My Boys Layout

This layout is another one for the cyber crop on the Tally Scraps forum.
It was a sketch challenge, and I just grabbed the pics of the first day of school
and got those done, yep, I am that far behind, well sort of, I usually just scrap
whatever feels right and go with it.

Speaking of going with it, I love naked chipboard letters. I like to use my ink or
markers and color them to match my layout and then some boss gloss embossing
ink and some thick embossing powder like Utee or SU glassy glaze.

It's the perfect way to have the right color every time... I am not buying letters
anymore, just naked chipboard, I love the way they look and I never have to
worry about running out of the right color.....

I do have tons and tons of old alphabet stickers to use up but, I am not buying anymore!!!

Important Stuff

This was a challenge over at Tally scraps to focus a layout on a date, any date
That was important to us..... I picked June 6, 2006 for my date, the day I met
the love of my life! That's all there is to it, the journaling simply reads,
The day I met the love of my life.

Saturday Scraps

Today is the first day I am posting in the new format. Here are the week's scrapbook layouts that caught my eye. I have noticed a few simple trends... First, I have noticed that there are a lot of bulky items on layouts these days, the flowers are bigger, the chipboard is bigger, its just bigger and bulkier, it seems that the days of flat scrapbooks are in the past, at least for now. The next trend that I notice is all the white space. I have always had a need to fill every nook and cranny of the page, but I see that white space is in... I am gonna have to practice this, the way, clusters of embellies and pictures are grouped together in one spot... what about you, are their trends you feel you have to give a try?
